The Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts (泛太平洋酒店及度假村) is a hospitality company headquartered in Singapore and founded in 1975. It is a subsidiary of developer UOL Group and operates more than 20 luxury hotels , resorts and serviced suites across Asia , North America , Oceania , and Europe .
The company entered the Chinese market with the opening of Garden Hotel in Shanghai in 1990. [1] A marketing alliance was established in 2006 with Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. The company entered a further business alliance in 2008 with Rihga Royal Hotels Co. Ltd., sharing a joint venture in sales and marketing of accommodation business. [10]
On July 1, 1996, Japan Airlines Development Ltd. was renamed to "JAL Hotels Company Ltd." to further establish its business description as a hotel operator. On April 1, 1999, a merger with "Japan Airlines Hotel Co., Ltd." resulted in JAL Hotels taking over the management of the "Ginza Nikko Hotel" and "Kawasaki Nikko Hotel".
The first NHI-operated hotel in Japan opened in 1973. [3] Other Nikko properties have been owned and operated by other entities; among the oldest Nikko properties is the Ginza Nikko, which opened in 1959. [4] [5] Nikko Hotels International used to be owned by Japan Airlines Development Company Limited, which in the 1990s was renamed JAL Hotels. [1]
