In 1970, Dunhill Records offered a recording contract to the newly formed "Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds." The following year, "Don't Pull Your Love," produced by Steve Barri and arranged by Jimmie Haskell, hit #1 on the Cash Box Top 100, peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, sold over one million US copies, and was awarded a gold record by the R.I.A.A. in August 1971. Thomas William Hamilton (born December 31, 1951) is an American musician and songwriter who serves as the bassist for the hard rock band Aerosmith. Hamilton has regularly co-written songs for Aerosmith, including two of the band's biggest successes: " Sweet Emotion " (1975) and " Janie's Got a Gun " (1989).
The band's first full-length album, entitled Songbook, was released in late 2006. Following its release, the band opened for Broken Social Scene, Iron and Wine, Grizzly Bear, and Calexico. Dave Hamilton was born in Savannah, Georgia, and moved to Detroit with his parents as a child. He played guitar and vibraphone, and in the late 1930s toured as a member of the Helen Pennilton Quartet. In the 1940s he formed his own band, the Noc-Tunes, who recorded for the Sensation label.
