Back Bay station (also signed as Back Bay · South End) is an intermodal passenger station in Boston, Massachusetts. It is located just south of Copley Square in Boston's Back Bay and South End neighborhoods. It serves MBTA Commuter Rail and MBTA subway routes, and also serves as a secondary Amtrak intercity rail station for Boston.
A Back Bay Logan Express bus, the only route to use transit-style buses. Buses to Back Bay are operated by Massport and make two stops in the neighborhood, at Hynes Convention Center and the MBTA's Back Bay station. Buses departing Logan Airport are free for passengers, while trips to the airport are $3.00.
The system is split into two parts, with lines north of Boston having a terminus at North Station and lines south of Boston having a terminus at South Station. As of November 2024 [update] , there are 137 active stations on twelve lines, two of which have branches. 110 active stations are accessible ; 27 are not.

The Orange Line is a rapid transit line operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) as part of the MBTA subway system. The line runs south on the surface from Oak Grove station in Malden, Massachusetts through Malden and Medford, paralleling the Haverhill Line, then crosses the Mystic River on a bridge into Somerville, then into Charlestown.
