Your first consideration is the age of your equipment. CK-4 is formulated to be compatible with all engines, including older model tractors. It is available in the same viscosity and weight classifications you have always used; for example, 30W, 10W30, 5W40, 15W40, and 20W50. As to what to pick? Depends on your climate for summer.

Tractors usually flip backwards when they catch an implement on a rock, stump,or a large root. Just train yourself to always be aware of what both the implement, and the tractor is doing. If you feel the front start to lift,Hold the clutch in,then back up to free it.
I agree with Ultradog. I've owned a ford 2000 3 cyl diesel for 15+ years, I've always used a group 49 (1050 cca) battery from SAMS CLUB sold under the name Duracell (3 yr. full replacement warranty) the last one I purchased cost just under $150.00 including tax in May 2019 .
Check the manuals section of this forum, I'm pretty sure I've posted the Factory Service Manual for the "Briggs Opposed Twins". Of all the Ford Lawn Tractors, the YT16 are the most sought after by collectors because that opposed twin is one of the best engines Briggs ever made. The tractor was actually made by Gilson and they built great machines.

I have an old 47' ford 2-N, with front distributor, its my summer wagon puller, now. When it snowed and I tried to plow, the fan would blow water into the dis. cap. At this point, the tractor wont run till you dry out the distributor. If I was buying an OLD Ford gas tractor.....I would look for an old Golden Jubilee.
"The '63-'64 2000 and 4000 light industrials were both blue and buff as far as I know. Can't find any literature here to back that up, though. Old original sales brochures seem to be skimpy for the '63-'64 light industrial tractors." _____ I also contacted Tony Jacobs, who is an expert on these old Ford tractors. Below are his comments.
