According to local historians, Dekle Beach was acquired and developed by Perry, Florida businessman and politician Gus J. Dekle sometime in the mid-1940s. Dekle was the owner of Dekle Motor Company, a local Chevrolet dealership, as well as a previous member of the City Council of Perry and a member of the Florida House of Representatives during the 1940s and 1950s.

Keaton Beach is home to one of Florida's most natural and undeveloped coastlines. Keaton Beach is an unincorporated community on the Gulf coast in the southern part of Taylor County, Florida, United States. Keaton Beach is located 22.5 mi (36.2 km) south of the county seat of Perry.
Dekle was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Formerly an automobile dealer , [ 6 ] [ 7 ] he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1947 to 1955. [ 1 ] [ 5 ] He died [ 8 ] on November 21, 1961, at the age of 69.

George Robert "Bob" Dekle Sr. (born May 23, 1948) is an American lawyer who was an Assistant State Attorney in Florida's Third Judicial Circuit from 1975 through 2005. During this time, he served as lead prosecuting attorney in the 1980 Orlando murder trial of serial killer Ted Bundy, which ultimately delivered the death penalty that was carried out in 1989.
Hal Peb Dekle (November 21, 1917 – May 23, 2005) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Florida from January 5, 1971, to April 30, 1975. [ 1 ] Born in Venice, Florida , Dekle entered the practice of law in 1940, becoming successful in civil practice. [ 2 ]
