    the best info you will get on this question is in the book the dept of fish and wildlife puts out every year, you can get at walmart or just about anywhere you buy fishing equipment, what I can tell you is if a lake is under so many surface acres you can't use a cast net ( taylorsville yes guist creek no ) you can't legally use a cast net within so many feet of a dam, I do it all the time just ...

    Don your brothers best bet would be check with the local wildlife fisheries dept ,to make sure whether it is legal or not ,an if so where .     Tom, i just received feedback from scott hale, exec director ohio dnr, and part of his response indicates the jurisdiction over ohio river is shared since 80s, ky-ohio ('80), ky-ind ('85), and illinois ('91) via supreme court legislation.
