When I worked at Electronics Boutique (EB Games) 20 years ago, the display case on the shelf was the "gutted" copy that was filed behind the counter. I'm not sure who or what started it, this was before the Gamestop merge as well. But, I'm surprised they STILL do it. So many people hated it then, so many people hate it now, and understandably so.
I stopped going to GameStop when I brought them like 500 dollars worth of video game stuff and they wanted to give me like 15 bucks. I got mostly what I expected to receive by selling online instead. I know they have to make money on the things they buy, but their offers were always so ridiculously low.
Gamestop likely to file Chapter 11 before the PS5 pro comes out./ This is them desperately trying to get a cash inflow to cover current expenses. Last edited: Apr 9, 2024
GameStop midnight launches were fun for many years. Went to Skyrim and Modern Warfare 2’s launch. Lines were a block long. Then they started having them for niche games, like one time I went and got ZoE HD collection. Then around GoW 2018 came out, they started having them at like 9 PM or something due to security reasons.

The product has disappeared from GameStop.com and calls to brick and mortar GameStop stores indicate that Dawn of War II is no longer available for pre-order. That's a bit curious, considering GameStop was, at one point, offering an exclusive "Chapter Command Wargear Set" to those who pre-ordered the game and the title is still a month away ...
In my experience as a GameStop manager, the company's facory refurbs were much more reliable than used systems that get traded in. It was very rare that a refurb would come back defective. However, I left the company before they started selling refurbed Wii and PS3 systems. The price isn't that great, but what do you expect from GameStop?
Having being an early adopter for ever I always recommend extended warranty in America. There is almost always an issue that shows up after the pathetic standard warranty. Gamestop I would assume going out of business try 3rd party like squaretrade. Outside America much better consumer protection. I got mine directly from uncle phil at Microsoft.
Honestly, GameStop is the last company I would trust to do any of these things correctly. Click to expand... Yeah i would buy a lot of GC games from them 5 years ago or so when they ran too good to be true deals and returned at least 33% of them because they didn't work.
Anyone know of any video game stores in Mexico that sell only video games? Example: EB Games or Game Stop? Also, is World of Warcraft sold in Mexico? Or, do you have to go through Amazon or other online vendors to pick it up?
