I really miss the recessive and dominant genetics from the sims 2 so I was wondering if anyone knows of a mod that adds that same aspect to the sims 4? I have searched and all I can find are further mods for the sims 2 genetics.

Genetics have sadly always been broken. 2's genetics were a bit weird, due to aliens carrying the trait for red hair, first born syndrome, and the broken maxis face templates (all of which can be fixed via modding) . 3's were odd as their were no dominant or recessive traits and offspring were mutation prone.

Does anyone know of a genetics mod for Sims 4, the Sims 4 has absolutely no genetics system at all and it's infuriating. It's one of the main reasons I've been struggling to play the game as of lately, as I'm a legacy player.
With the Sims 4 having to literally paint on the coat really limits the offspring coats... I'm not sure how they would create a genetics mod using this system, but fingers crossed. If not I'm going to be using a lot of online genetics calculators and custom paint jobs xD
But for those of you who want to play with a family and be able to have good looking sims in game for generations without having to edit them, here's my trick: While creating the sim, play with genetics and generate a few teens with a random 2nd parent. If there are any quirks in the way you've designed your sim, they will be very apparent.
First off, your sims are adorable, I can't even decide which one I love most, and I'm definitely stealing your freckles Genetics are my favorite thing to look for in the game! Even when I have same-sex couples I always sneak a biological child somehow because I LOVE seeing how they get passed on!
Sims 4 genetics is basic. It’s only what you see on the parents, so things from older generations don’t come back. The lack of chin ( and narrow shoulders) is a weird thing that starts cropping up as a save gets longer and existing sims breed with each other.
