Island Lake Lodge is a back country tourist resort near Fernie, British Columbia, Canada, just outside the Mount Fernie Provincial Park. The resort covers 7,000 acres (28 km 2) of mountainous terrain. During the winter cat-skiing operation, the land is used primarily by guests of the lodge, who access the lodge by snowcat.
Around its shores is a community of recreational homes, and near its southern end had been an older fishing lodge, the Tyaughton Lake Lodge, while on its northwestern shore is the Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, built in the 1980s, which at the time of construction was the largest log structure built in British Columbia in the 20th Century. Buttle Lake is a popular destination for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Also located in the park is Della Falls which, at 440 m (1,440 ft) in height, is among the highest waterfalls in Canada. The 6,500 m (21,000 ft) thick Karmutsen Formation is the most abundant rock unit in the park.
Nanook Lodge is the only fishing/adventure lodge open to the public on Stuart Island and has scheduled daily seaplane service from Seattle. There is a Canada Post branch for the community of Denny Island (V0T-1B0) located inside the grocery and liquor store. There is also a laundromat, gift shops, clothing store and gardening store just up the road. There is a small community school with students from grades K–7. There are approximately 100 full-time (and growing) residents.

The lake is located about 25 kilometres east-southeast of Port Alberni along the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Clemens Creek flows into the northern tip of the lake. The Hucuktlis River drains the lake into the northern end of Uchucklesit Inlet, an arm of Alberni Inlet. [1] [2]
