I tack that onto the beginning of W7 mainly because Aokiji's appearance at the end, but Davyback is a pretty poor roadbump and far far worse in the anime.

Best for me is Water 7, also has the best opening by far and introduced one of my favorite crew members. After that is tough, probably Sabaody for showing how dark the world of One Piece truly is and then the pay off punch. Then Enies Lobby or Arlong after that. Worst is probably Punk Hazard, for just being so damn boring and long.

Marineford isn't even in the Top 5 One Piece arcs, let alone Shonen. But it's definitely not overrated like suggested. Yeah, I don't see Marineford on too many "top One Piece arcs" list, let alone top Japanese cartoon/comic arc lists. Now if this thread had been about Water 7, then this thread would be more interesting.
I think people REAAAALLY take the early arcs of One Piece for granted. There's just something so pure, fun, and childlike about it that I haven't really seen since early Dragonball. I'm probably also one of the few people that loves the early lanky, cartoony art style, so I guess that's a wall for some people.
