Britt Allcroft (born Hilary Mary Allcroft Coote; [1] 14 December 1943 – 25 December 2024) was an English screenwriter, producer, director, and voice actress. She adapted Wilbert Awdry 's The Railway Series in the form of the children's television series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (later re-titled Thomas & Friends ).
The Truth About Women is a 1957 British comedy film directed by Muriel Box and starring Laurence Harvey, Julie Harris, Mai Zetterling and Diane Cilento. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] The film was not a commercial success.
The filmmakers acquired additional funding through a Kickstarter that raised over US$14,500 over the span of 30 days to further expand the scope of the film, as well as allowing the filmmakers to interview crew members from the series, including the series creator Britt Allcroft in her final on-screen appearance before her death in December 2024.
