Pancho López is a hit 1955 song by Lalo Guerrero based on the 1954 TV theme The Ballad of Davy Crockett.The song sold more than 500,000 copies in the US. Guerrero performed the song on the Tonight Show and Art Linkletter's show.
He recorded over 700 songs since his first record in 1939 with Los Carlistas on Vocalion Records. As a songwriter Guerrero wrote songs for El Trio los Panchos, Lola Beltrán, and many other famous artists. His first American hit was "Pancho López", a parody of the popular 1950s hit "The Ballad of Davy Crockett".
