*Haglaz or *Hagalaz is the reconstructed Proto-Germanic name of the h-rune ᚺ, meaning "hail" (the precipitation). In the Anglo-Saxon futhorc , it is continued as hægl , and, in the Younger Futhark, as ᚼ hagall .
