Portorož (pronounced [pɔɾtɔˈɾoːʃ] ⓘ; Italian: Portorose) is a Slovenian Adriatic seaside resort and spa settlement located in the Municipality of Piran in southwestern Slovenia. Its modern development began in the late 19th century with the vogue for the first health resorts.
Portorož was, together with Grado and Opatija, categorized as one of the most important coast resorts and spas on the Austrian Riviera. The construction of the hotel was completed in 1912. At the end of 1983, it was proclaimed a cultural monument, and a park in front of hotel was called a monument of designed nature.

Koper railway station is the terminus of the Divača–Koper Railway and Portorož Airport is located near Sečovlje, close to Croatian borders. Main road serving the Riviera is the national road 111, which joins the A1 motorway (to Ljubljana and Maribor) at Koper.

MK Group cooperates with world's famous hotel group Kempinski, and has invested in several real estate properties in Serbia and region. It also cooperates with another hotel group Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, and has invested in hotel located in Novi Sad. [19]
Portorož Airport (Slovene: Aerodrom Portorož) (IATA: POW, ICAO: LJPZ) is the smallest of three international airports in Slovenia. It is located near the village of Sečovlje, 6 km (3.7 mi) south of Portorož, and less than 300 m (980 ft) from the Croatian border. The airport was opened on 27 September 1962.
