A Package for Mrs. Jewls After cleaning up the playground, which is covered in pencils and sheets of paper, Louis the yard teacher brings a heavy package to Mrs. Jewls's classroom, on the t. hirtieth floor of Wayside. Mrs. Jewls was teaching the class about gravity when a tired Louis entered carrying the heavy, fragile package.
The Wayside School books take place on the thirtieth story of Wayside School, which is taught by Mrs. Jewls, a nice teacher with occasionally impractical teaching methods. She is the replacement for the old teacher, Mrs. Gorf, who was an evil teacher who could wiggle her ears and stick out her tongue to turn the students into apples.
Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger is a 1995 children's short story cycle novel by American author Louis Sachar, and the third book in his Wayside School series. In the book, while the teacher on the 30th story of Wayside School, Mrs. Jewls, goes on maternity leave, her students must deal with multiple problematic substitute teachers.
Mrs. Jewls and Kidswatter try to capture him. Mrs. Jewls tells Todd, Maurecia, and Dana that Goon is a fugitive. Meanwhile, Todd and friends save Goon from being captured. "Snow Day": Mr. Kidswatter turns up the coldness for Mrs. Jewls' skating lesson. Myron, being the leader, traps the class with it and Maurecia's group.
Mrs. Jewls becomes the new teacher after Mrs. Gorf is eaten. When Mrs. Jewls first sees her students, she figures that they must be monkeys, because Mrs. Jewls has never seen children so cute. After the students convince her that they are not monkeys, Mrs. Jewls begins teaching normally, though the students liked her original idea better. 3. Joe
The character of Mrs. Gorf is also omitted. Mrs. Gorf was Mrs. Jewls's predecessor who was transformed into an apple and eaten by Louis, however she does appear in a later episode of the show titled "Mrs. Gorf" but as a substitute. In the book, Mrs. Jewls has 30 students as opposed to the 16 that appear in the movie. [1] [2]
1. The Bells of Wayside This chapter introduces Wayside School's elaborate bell system, while Todd tries to rush to class in the morning. He shows up late, and the day goes poorly for him, as his name is written on the discipline list, Mrs. Jewls assigns numerous homework assignments, and a warning is written on the blackboard about the upcoming Ultimate Test.
So Mrs. Jewls's class makes a vote on which should be the new size. Unfortunately, the kids keep wanting more votes with the second most votes, something like a tetherball game. Ultimately, Kathy is always on the side that wins, so her size gets to be the size of the new flagpole.
