The qathet Regional District [a] (/ ˈ k æ θ ɛ t /, qRD) is a regional district in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its only incorporated municipality is the City of Powell River, although it includes a number of unincorporated areas. The district encompasses a land area of 5,075.33 square kilometres (1,959.60 sq mi).

Regional districts came into being via an order of government in 1965 with the enactment of amendments to the Municipal Act. [1] Until the creation of regional districts, the only local form of government in British Columbia were incorporated municipalities, and services in areas outside municipal boundaries had to be sought from the province or through improvement districts.
The Open Location Code (OLC) is a geocode based on a system of regular grids for identifying an area anywhere on the Earth. [1] It was developed at Google's Zürich engineering office, [2] and released late October 2014. [3] Location codes created by the OLC system are referred to as "plus codes".
