On June 10, 2015, Springfield School Board voted in an 8–1 decision to build a new high school. The construction of the new high school began in 2018 and was completed in early 2021. The old high school was demolished,to way for new playing fields and installation of the visiting teams bleachers which concluded in 2022. [7]
