Serena Lucha Gonzales-Gutierrez (born November 22, 1981) is an American politician who is a member of the Denver City Council, representing one of two at-large districts. Previously, she served in the Colorado House of Representatives, representing the 4th district in Denver from January 2019 until she resigned on August 4, 2023. [1]

The mayor can approve or veto any ordinances or resolutions approved by the council, [1] make sure all contracts with the city are kept and performed, sign all bonds and contracts, is responsible for the city budget, and can appoint people to various city departments, organizations, and commissions.
