This is a list of cities and towns in Lebanon [1] distributed according to district. There are total 1000 districts. 56.21% of the population lives in 19 cities and towns, which gives the average 2,158 people per town.
Zgharta (Arabic: زغرتا, Classical Syriac: ܙܓܪܬܐ), [1] also spelled Zghorta, is a city in North Lebanon, with an estimated population of around 50,000. It is the second biggest city in Northern Lebanon after Tripoli. Zgharta is officially the Zgharta-Ehden municipality. [2]
Lebanon was also subjugated by two military occupations: Syria from 1976 to 2005 and Israel from 1985 to 2000. It has been the scene of several conflicts with Israel, of which the ongoing war marks the fourth Israeli invasion since 1978.
