May 11, 1976 (North Philadelphia Eastern banks of the Schuylkill River: Fairmount Park: First municipal waterworks in the United States. Designed in 1812 by Frederick Graff and built between 1819 and 1822, it operated until 1909.
In 1987 the district was expanded north to the 7600 block of Germantown Avenue (up to Cresheim Valley Drive), which is the southern boundary of the Chestnut Hill Historic District. The district's two parts contain 579 properties, of which 514 are considered contributing , and only 65 non-contributing.
College Hall was placed on the National Register of Historic Places February 14, 1978. [3] It is also a contributing property of the University of Pennsylvania Campus Historic District. The building currently houses the undergraduate admissions office, the university president's offices, the Department of History, and classrooms. [4]
