The Other Palace is a theatre in London's Off West End which opened on 18 September 2012 as the St. James Theatre. [1] It features a 312-seat main theatre and a 120-seat studio theatre. [ 2 ] It was built on the site of the former Westminster Theatre , which was damaged by a fire in 2002 and subsequently demolished. [ 3 ]

The name of the theatre was finally changed to The Palace Theatre in 1911. Herman Finck was musical director from 1900 until 1920, [ 15 ] and made many recordings with the theatre's orchestra. A fully staged production received its premiere at The Other Palace in London from 22 January to 3 March 2018, [2] returning for a second run from 1 September to 7 October 2018, before being extended until 21 October 2018, [3] starring Rob Houchen in the leading role of Eugene & Laura Baldwin as Janey.

The theatre opened on Monday 21 October 1912 and named as the "Palace of Varieties" on 14 November. The theatre was built by Ward & Ward of London [2] and was owned by Mr. Raymond of the Raymond Picture Company who also controlled 14 other cinemas and theatres.
