The Marine Band has been Hohner's most popular model of harmonica for generations. Made in Germany on a wood comb, most blues and rock artists play a Marine Band. Several noted users are Bob Dylan, Brian Jones, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Little Walter and Neil Young. [10] There are various subdivisions of the Marine Band.

The band calls their speedy rendering of the march "Stars and Stribes", and performs the march at all solemn occasions at the Trondheim Student Society. Set during the fall term of 1999, the record time is 50.9 seconds (nominal time is 3 minutes 50 seconds). For this, the band is noted in the Norwegian edition of the Guinness Book of Records.
Based on a Sousa's 1890 song "Nail the flag to the mast". Sousa made some modifications in the song and composed this march for piano, which he apparently never arranged on a band or orchestra. The first strain is through-composed without repeats, the typical contrasting second strain, nor any break strain in the Trio.
