Martha Bonnie Diamond (May 1, 1944 – December 30, 2023) was an American painter. Her paintings first gained public attention in the 1980s [1] and are included in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and many other institutions.
As of 2007, Font-de-Gaume was the only site in France with polychrome cave paintings that is still open to the public. [4] To date, 230 figures have been recorded in the cave, and it is thought that more are still to be revealed. [3] Font-de-Gaume holds over 200 polychrome paintings.
He was born in Paris. There, he began painting under the supervision of his father, the painter Martin Drolling. [2] After 1806, he studied with Jacques-Louis David.
