Tractor Supply has one that I like for $699. The brand is United States Stove. I forget the brand of the one at the specialty store.

I got used barrels, with removable lids, at $10 a pop. I built the first one and sold it. Recovered my costs.

We used those patio paving stones under our wood stove- works great and holds the heat well. "Men will never be free till the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." For the pad here not long back they had that real ceramic tile 13x13 pieces for about 79 cents each .

Cut and split your wood one year in advance. Store in a covered shed that has good air circulation. Still you will need to clean at least once a season and check and clean if needed in the mid season. Nope i burn mine as i cut it at my age and health to much chance of someone else burning it :awh::clap:

An old fashioned ash can. Even had a bail on the top. We had a wood burning furnace, and the chance of having coals in the ash bothered us. This was a great way to clear the wood stove without having to wait for it to go cold. We only use wood for the fireplace now, so the ash can is now a cat food container for the barn. We've had it about 30 ...

In addition these days you need a seperate chimney from the oil burner. Used to be oil & wood could share, there is little real concern but regulators need to regulate.
