Miller Arcade is a Grade II listed shopping centre in Preston, Lancashire, England. [1] The building was opened in 1899 and is located in Preston's city centre and is Preston's first indoor shopping centre. [2] The building is modelled on a much larger shopping centre, Burlington Arcade, London. [2]
In 2019, the Lune Street entrance and corridor were closed due to most of the shop units being vacant. Despite the corridor only being refurbished 3 years earlier, it was removed and a Matalan store now takes its place. The car park, along with the station car park, occupies the remainder of the former goods yard and the site of the East Lancashire platforms of the station, which were demolished in the early 1970s. Pilkington's Lancastrian Pottery & Tiles was a manufacturer of tiles, vases and bowls, based in Clifton near Pendlebury, Lancashire, England. The company was established in 1892 at Clifton Junction, alongside Fletcher's Canal. The company employed talented designers, the most famous of whom was Charles Voysey.
