"Standing Still" is a song by American singer-songwriter Jewel. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee , the song was included on her fourth studio album, This Way (2001). Jewel wrote the song sometime after the release of her previous album, Spirit , while she was taking a break from her music career.
Jewel was looking for a raw, live-sounding album, leading her to be involved in the album's production. [7] The album spawned the singles " Standing Still " and " Break Me ", as well as the title track , which was also featured on the soundtrack to the film Life or Something Like It .

"Stand" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100, instead reaching number 16 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart, while becoming Jewel's third consecutive number-one song on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
Her 2001 release This Way was certified Platinum in the United States and produced the Top 30 hit, "Standing Still". Her fourth album 0304 was released in June 2003 with a more pop sound. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the United States. It spawned the Top 20 single "Intuition".
