Pluto is the Olympian god of the Underworld, death, and the dead, and is the Monarch of Hades. Much of the character's story parallels that of traditional Greek Myth.To wit, after defeating their father Cronus, Pluto and his brothers Zeus and Neptune as well as his sisters Hera, Hestia and Demeter drew lots to divide Cronus' empire among them.
When Hades plots against Hercules, Pain and Panic manage to lure and capture Pegasus by assuming the form of a female Pegasus. At the end of the movie, Hades is punched into the river Styx, which they witness and hope he does not return. Pain and Panic also appear in the Hercules TV series as Hades's lackeys.

Meanwhile, Hades learns from the Fates that Zeus is mortal and sends his troublesome three-headed dog Cerberus after Zeus. Hercules protects Zeus until he regains his godhood and defeats Hades, but Zeus learns a valuable lesson about how hard it is being mortal.
