Lexically, chakra is the Indic reflex of an ancestral Indo-European form *kสทékสทlos, whence also "wheel" and "cycle" (Ancient Greek: κฯκλος, romanized: kýklos). [10] [3] [4] It has both literal [11] and metaphorical uses, as in the "wheel of time" or "wheel of dharma", such as in Rigveda hymn verse 1.164.11, [12] [13] pervasive in the earliest Vedic texts.
The ragas within the chakra differ only in the dhaivatam and nishadam notes (D and N), as illustrated below. The name of each of the 12 chakras suggest their ordinal number as well. [1] [4] Indu stands for the moon, of which we have only one – hence it is the first chakra. Nฤtra means eyes, of which we have two – hence it is the second.
The root chakra forms the base of the cone. The cone then extends upwards to the crown chakra at the top of the head forming the point of the cone. [ 2 ] The chakras themselves deal with the flow of energy in the body, and the cone of power is created by harnessing the body’s natural energy and directing it upwards.
