On December 16, 2024, Chrystia Freeland, the minister of finance and deputy prime minister of Canada, resigned from Cabinet. [1] As the finance minister, Freeland was set to deliver the Trudeau government's Fall Economic Statement in the afternoon. Later in the day, Freeland was replaced as finance minister by Dominic LeBlanc.
