Berry Hill Plantation, also known simply as Berry Hill, is a historic plantation located on the west side of South Boston in Halifax County, Virginia, United States.The main house, transformed c. 1839 into one of Virginia's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1969.
The main house, which dates to the 1770s, probably stood as a 1-story or 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-story single-pile, four-room house with interior end chimneys. The earliest documented outbuilding associated with the Black Walnut plantation was constructed southeast of the main house and consisted of a 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 -story, wood-frame building (Figure 9).
Brandon Plantation is a historic plantation home located near Alton, Halifax County, Virginia. The main house is a two-part, frame vernacular farmhouse. The earliest section of the farmhouse is a single-pile, three-bay gable-roof dwelling erected about 1800. Attached to the east end is a two-bay section added about 1842.
