Sailmakers Shopping Centre (High street entrance) Sailmakers shopping centre (formerly known as Tower Ramparts) is a small multi-story shopping centre located in Ipswich, England. It was opened to the public in November 1986. It is currently owned and operated by LaSalle Investment Management, who purchased the centre in 2011.
It worked by wind until 11 October 1928. The shutters were removed from the sales in 1934 and stored in the mill. The mill was bought at auction in 1937 by Mr Kenney, a mill enthusiast. The fantail was blown off in the 1940s, damaging the cap. [2] A lease on the mill was granted to East Suffolk County Council in 1950.
The company was established in 1796. The United States branch was established in 1902. [3] In 1958 Franklin Ratsey was chairman of the board. [4]The introduction of synthetic fabrics to sailmaking saw Ratsey and Lapthorn suffer commercial decline. [5]
