Love is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965. Led by Arthur Lee , the band's primary songwriter, they were one of the first racially diverse American rock bands. Their sound incorporated an eclectic range of styles including garage , folk rock , and psychedelia . [ 2 ]

The song was sampled on Krayzie Bone's song "Paradise" released in 2008. The song can be partially heard in the 2022 Michael Bay movie Ambulance. The first rock album issued on then-folk giant Elektra Records, the album begins with the group's radical reworking of the Burt Bacharach-Hal David song "My Little Red Book" and also features "Signed D.C." (allegedly a reference to one-time Love drummer Don Conka), along with the poignant "A Message to Pretty".
Three Love tracks, "My Little Red Book" (from Love) as well as "Always See Your Face" and "Your Friend and Mine" (both from Four Sail), were included on the soundtrack for the film adaptation of Nick Hornby's High Fidelity. Lee's songs have been heard in other films as well, notably "7 & 7 Is" in both 1990's Point Break and 1996's Bottle Rocket.
In 1982, eight songs from Out Here were used to fill out the first side of an album titled Studio/Live, released by MCA Records. Three of the songs were edited specifically for this release: "Doggone" (from 12:00 to 3:15); "Love Is More Than Words or Better Late Than Never" (from 11:20 to 2:30); and "Gather Round" (from 5:50 to 3:30).
