Benjamin Keefe Clark, also known as Keefe, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 30, 1962, and graduated from John Dewey High School in 1980. A United States Marine, Clark served in the Gulf War and became a corporal before returning to New York to pursue cooking, a passion and skill he picked up from his mother.
