Clyde / ˈ k l aɪ d / [6] is a city in Sandusky County, Ohio, located eight miles southeast of Fremont. The population was 6,294 at the time of the 2020 census . The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated Clyde as a Tree City USA .
The route then moves due north to Fremont, where it joins a four-route bypass around the city with U.S. Routes 6 and 20 and State Route 19. From its northern bypass interchange, it continues on a northeast heading, following the northern coastline of Sandusky Bay to Port Clinton, where it joins State Route 2 on a bypass around that city.
State Route 510 (SR 510) is a north–south state highway in the northern portion of Ohio. The entirety of SR 510 lies within Sandusky County. Its southern terminus is at SR 101 in Clyde, and its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 6 (US 6) between Fremont and Sandusky.
Clyde was laid out in 1867, making it the oldest town in Cloud County. [4] [5] It was named after the River Clyde in Scotland, [6] [7] [8] or according to another source, it was named for Clyde, Ohio [9] (which also is named indirectly for the River Clyde). Clyde experienced growth in 1877 when the Central Branch Railroad was built through it. [10]

The western terminus of State Route 412 is just northeast of Fremont at a diamond interchange with the U.S. Route 20/State Route 19 duplex, which follows the Fremont Bypass at that point. The eastern terminus of the state highway is at a T-intersection with State Route 101 approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) southwest of Castalia .
