Edison Park (formerly Canfield) is one of the 77 community areas of Chicago. It is located on the Northwest side of Chicago , Illinois , United States. It consists entirely of the Edison Park neighborhood , and is named after Thomas Alva Edison , [ 3 ] who gave his blessing to this community namesake in 1890.
River North is a neighborhood in the Near North Side, Chicago located north of the Chicago River, south of Division Street, and west of Wabash Avenue. Greektown is a social and dining district, located on the Near West Side of Chicago. Today, Greektown consists mostly of restaurants and businesses, although a cultural museum [1] and an annual parade and festival [2] still remain in the neighborhood. The district can be found along Halsted Street, between Van Buren and Madison Streets.
Edison Park's historic fieldhouse was built in 1907 as a public school. The fieldhouse was designed by Solon Spencer Beman in the Arts and Crafts style. A branch of the Chicago Public Library operated out of the fieldhouse from 1937 to 1960, and the building has also served as a community center.
