Napalm Death are an English grindcore band, founded by Nic Bullen (vocals, bass) and Miles Ratledge (drums) in May 1981 when the two were 12/13 years old. [1] The band currently consists of bassist Shane Embury (since 1987), lead vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway, guitarist Mitch Harris (both since 1989), drummer Danny Herrera (since 1991).

While not a founding member, Embury is the longest standing member of the band, having taken part in the Scum tour, replacing previous bassist Jim Whitely in July 1987. He was a fan of the band before he joined, first seeing them perform at Midlands venue The Mermaid the previous year and becoming close friends of the members of the band, particularly Mick Harris.

Bullen is one of the founding members – with Miles "Rat" Ratledge – of Napalm Death, [1] the band credited with creating the Grindcore genre. [2] The duo had collaborated on fanzines and played together in a number of 'bedroom' bands from 1980 onwards and formed the first line-up of Napalm Death in May 1981 (when Bullen and Ratledge were 13 and 14 years old respectively).
Lee Robert Dorrian (born 5 June 1968) is an English singer, best known as a former member of grindcore band Napalm Death and later as frontman of doom metal band Cathedral. He is currently singing with Septic Tank and With the Dead .
Harris replaced Napalm Death's founding member Miles "The Rat" Ratledge as drummer in 1985. He was the driving force behind Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration, being the only band member to play on both side A and side B of Scum.
