Action Transfers, also known as rub-on transfers, were an art-based children's pastime that was extremely popular throughout the world from the 1960s to the 1980s.They consisted of a printed cardboard background image and a transparent sheet of coloured dry transfer figures of people, animals, vehicles, weapons, explosions and so on.
Ramsgate Sands, also known as Life at the Seaside, is an oil-on-canvas painting by the English artist William Powell Frith, who worked on it from 1851 to 1854.The painting, which depicts a beach scene in Ramsgate, was Frith's first great commercial success: it was exhibited at the Royal Academy summer exhibition in 1854, and bought by Queen Victoria.
In a 2008 sale, the Academy quietly sold Frederic Edwin Church‘s Scene on the Magdalene (1854) and Sanford Gifford's Mount Mansfield, Vermont (1859) to a private collector for US$13.5 million. [4] The former was the Academy's only painting by Church; the latter was its only painting by Gifford.

From an early age, Bryden knew he wanted to be an artist. When he was nine years old, he won second place in a statewide children's art competition. That same year he sold a watercolor out of a children's exhibit at the Norton Museum of Fine Art in West Palm Beach, Florida. “That sealed it for me,” Bryden remembers.
