St. Rita of Cascia High School is an all-boys Catholic high school located in the Ashburn neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side., United States. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, is operated by the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel, a Catholic jurisdiction of the Order of Saint Augustine, and is a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association.
From the 2008-2009 school year until the 2012-2013 school year the student body numbers declined by 47%, with the final student count at 73. It closed in 2013. [ 78 ] There was a proposal to convert the building into apartments, but the Berkley city council rejected it in 2018.
The school educated about 950 students from grades 9 to 12. Graduating classes usually consisted of 300 students. In recent years, enrollment at Santa Rita has dropped. As of the 2023 school year, enrollment was at 392. [3] In the 1984–85 school year, it was honored as a Blue Ribbon school. [4]
