Cortlandt is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States, located at the northwestern edge of the county, at the eastern terminus of the Bear Mountain Bridge. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,545.

Bear Mountain Bridge Road is a three-mile (4.8 km), two-lane section of US 6/US 202 from the west approach to Bear Mountain Bridge to a former toll house in the Town of Cortlandt, New York, United States. Local residents sometimes refer to the road as the Goat Trail.
But residents of the Town of Cortlandt organized a grassroots effort to save it. As a result, the association was able to raise the $150,000 necessary for repairs. The town worked out an arrangement where it owns the house and leases it to the Copland Heritage Association (now Copland House, Inc.) for $1 a year.
Croton-on-Hudson (/ k r oʊ t ɪ n / KROH-tin) is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 8,327 at the 2020 United States census over 8,070 at the 2010 census. [2] It is located in the town of Cortlandt as part of New York City's northern suburbs. The village was incorporated in 1898.

The New York Times called it "the main shopping area of the town of Cortlandt Manor" in 2003. [1] The current incarnation (and name) was founded in 1997 from buildings that made up the mostly enclosed Westchester Mall built in 1975.
Mohegan Lake was named "Lake Mohegan" in 1859 by William Jones, who owned the Mount Pleasant Hotel on the eastern side of the lake. [15]The Mohegan were a tribe of Native Americans once associated with the Pequot of easternmost Connecticut, who were pushed successively west to the area of the Housatonic River during the 17th and into the 18th century.
