The Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) was the name of the Ghanaian government after the People's National Party's elected government was overthrown by Jerry Rawlings, the former head of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council, in a coup d'état on 31 December 1981. He remained in power until 7 January 1993.
In 1974, he became a member of the Kumasi City Council and in 1983 became the chairman of the council equivalent to Mayor of Kumasi. He consequently became the Ashanti Regional secretary (Ashanti Regional minister) in the PNDC regime [11] [12] and in 1984 he was appointed Secretary for Local Government (minister for Local Government).
Naa Polku Konkuu Chiiri was appointed as a PNDC member in 1982. [2] He was one of many chiefs to be given political positions under the PNDC. [ 3 ] He was later also made the Secretary for Defence between 1982 and 1983.
Dadzie is a member of the National Democratic Congress.He served briefly as the PNDC Secretary of state, equivalent to minister, for the Central Region in 1983. [1] [6] From 1983 to 2001, Dadzie served as a Presidential Advisor with cabinet status to Jerry John Rawlings.
The corporation was established as a state-owned company with the statutory backing of PNDC Laws 64 and 84. The laws mandated the corporation to engage in exploration, production and disposal of petroleum products.

Jerry John Rawlings (born Jerry Rawlings John; 22 June 1947 – 12 November 2020) [1] was a Ghanaian military officer, aviator and politician who led the country for a brief period in 1979, and then from 1981 to 2001.
Both colleges were amalgamated together with other seven (7) educational institutions to form the University of College Education in 1992 under the PNDC Law 322. Prof. Frederick Kwaku Sarfo is the first and current Vice-Chancellor of the university.
