Although 2MB is quite comfortable. And the new doc template pattern is neat anyway (example: Template:MONTHNAME). Templates that are called many times on the same page are also adding pretty much to the pre-expand size. Cutting down on hefty noinclude content on these templates by using the doc pattern is really beneficial.
