What does a "high" (23) "bun/creatinine ratio" mean for an otherwise healthy person? Worried. Can't get good explanation from my doctor. My blood work came back and everything is in the green except for my BUN/CREATININE (34) and my Urea Nitrogen(27 mg.) levels are high. My red blood cell count is low at 3.66L.
What does a high bun/creatinine ratio reading mean? What does it mean low creatinine levels and high bun creatinine ratio? Meaning of bun/creatinine ratio? My bun to creatinine ratio is 5.7 to 1. What does this mean? Is this a cause for concern? My bun is 6.95 mg/dl and my creatinine is 1.29 mg/dl.
BUN-creatinine ratio: The BUN (b)-creatinine (c) ratio is the association with b and c. If your b/c was 20, you would have a b of 20 and a c of 1 in your blood. In your case, you could have had a b of 23 and a c of 1.
Please advise on this blood work result Eos (Absolute) 0.6 HIGH x10E3/uL 0.0-0.4 BUN/Creatinine Ratio 8 LOW 10-22 Vitamin B12 >1999 HIGH pg/mL 211-9? A doctor has provided 1 answer A member asked:
Bun=blood urea nitrogen, byproduct of proteins ingested, if rise to high levels due to kidney problem, can cause toxic affects on the body. Creatinine= measurement of renal function. Normal bun/cr ratio about 10.
Wondering what this all means My 3.7 year old Blood tests says Urea Nitrogen 16 is high with standard of 3-12 Bun creatinine ratio is 48 standard is 6-22 Creatinine is .33 which it says in standard range which is 0.20- 0.73 Globulin was low 1.9?
Elevated ratio: Hi Oskcar. You lab levels are normal and your ratio is high due to your low creatinine level. If you had a high BUN-creatinine ratio that was abnormal due to dehydration, your serum sodium and chloride would be high. You did not mention those values in your test results. Were they elevated?
I have high BUN and BUN/creatinine ratio (normal creatinine). I also have high ALT(SGPT). I understand the BUN can come from high dietary protein, but what does the ALT of 35 mean? Should I reduce protein intake to lower BUN? I'm a 24yo, 128lbs female. I exercise 45-90 minutes/day and eat a high protein(~200g/day) and high fiber(~50g/day) diet.
