In the custom settings, find the last setting you tested that didn’t cut all the way through. create a custom setting with the pressure set 5 higher than that (i.e. if the setting was 115, set your custom cut to 120) if that doesn't cut through, keep increasing the pressure in increments of 5 until you find your ideal setting.
Using an Evergreen 80gsm matte sticker paper and trying to do kiss cuts but it keeps cutting through the full sheet on the kiss sections. Current settings are 70 pressure with 'less' selected, kiss doing 1 cut and the full page doing 3 cuts. Yes, the lightest I found is the WASHI setting. Try with Default and then Less if it still cuts through.
I know this is an old thread, but I did find a good workaround. I used the cricut to cut a shim, and fit the shim to the top of the blade housing. It'll back the blade out enough to lessen the pressure of the blade. I measured the stock cricut housing with calipers, the inside circle is 12.065mm (.475in) and outer is 15.5mm (.611in). It works!
Cutting felt with the rotary blade, cricut will not remember the pressure settings. I’m going into “material settings” and increasing the pressure, but the machine is not registering it unless I go back in and click “reset” and change the settings again before choosing “felt” as my material. When I go back in, the settings appear ...
Using online labels OL177WJ with VViVid laminate ontop. Trying to make an easy peel border. So far I’m thinking cardstock 65lb setting with more pressure selected might be working. Going through sample sheets so limited tests 😂. I think 3 passes for kiss and 5 passes for die cut.

If you require more pressure, just up the pressure number and keep testing. Also make sure you really adhere the cardstock to the mat using a brayer (if you don't have one, I highly recommend it!), and level the mat like this video using a paper towel roll . Edit: How to adjust and create custom cut setting video . 1.
Smart Dial Pressure Settings Off. I have an Explore Air 2 that I purchased in 12/2020. Up until recently, the smart dial settings worked perfectly. Within the last 2 months, it seems like they are all off- when cutting HTV I am now using the paper setting or my machine cuts fully through the transfer sheet. Does anyone have any ideas of how to ...
Oracal 651 sticks to the backing harder than Cricut vinyl. That is a GOOD thing actually because it will weed easier. Oracal MT80P transfer tape is not very sticky at all and will not pick up 651. (who would have though Oracal wont work with Oracal). So use a stickier transfer tape. Cricut would work but I think its too sticky and hard to ...
A Cricut is not a printer!! Anyone know what pressure setting to cut Frisket film with a Cricut One? I've tried quite of the few of the custom settings and used the "less pressure" setting but it just tears my letters and cuts all the way through to the cutting mat. Nobody's responded to this post yet.
