MikuMikuDance (commonly abbreviated to MMD) is a freeware animation program that lets users animate and create computer-animated films, originally produced for the Japanese Vocaloid voice synthesizer software voicebank Hatsune Miku, the first member of the Character Vocal series created by Crypton Future Media.

The game is a sequel to the 2009 video game, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA , and was first released on July 29, 2010 in Japan with no international release.
As the first installment in the series, Project DIVA has a gameplay similar to that of the rest of the series, albeit without some of the current features in the series. .
