Marie-José Pérec (French: [maʁi ʒoze peʁɛk] ⓘ; born 9 May 1968) [3] is a retired French track and field sprinter who specialised in the 200 and 400 metres and is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. [4] She was born in the French overseas department of Guadeloupe and moved to Paris when she was 16 years old. [5]
Marita Koch (later Meier-Koch; born 18 February 1957) is a German former sprint track and field athlete. During her career she set 16 world records in outdoor sprints as well as 14 world records in indoor events.
