Bahrain Polytechnic is a government-owned tertiary education institute located in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It has been established by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ; King of Bahrain by Royal Decree in July 2008.

The first institution of higher education in Bahrain, the Gulf Polytechnic, was established in 1968 as the Gulf Technical College. [1] In 1984 Gulf Polytechnic merged with the University College of Art, Science, and Education (UCB), founded in 1979, to create a national university offering Bachelor of Arts and bachelor of science degrees. The College of Engineering is based in a 10,000 m 2 (110,000 sq ft) campus alongside the Bahrain Polytechnic. [1] The university owns a total of 66 buildings, 240 classrooms, 183 labs, and three gymnasiums. [1] The university has four libraries, with the Central Library having an estimated 250,000 books in stock.
