Chaumont (/ ʃ ə ˈ m oʊ / shə-MOH) [citation needed] is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States.Its population was 624 at the 2010 census. [3] The village is named for Jacques-Donatien Le Ray de Chaumont, son of Benjamin Franklin's landlord and friend at Passy in France.

Cedar Grove Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located at Chaumont in Jefferson County, New York. It is a small cemetery established in 1873 whose pronounced slopes entailed the use of terraced plots. Retaining walls are largely built of Chaumont limestone. [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. [1]
