The Commemorative Works Act of 1986 (Pub. L. 99–652; 40 U.S.C. ch. 89) (CWA) is a United States federal law which bars the construction of commemorative works near the National Mall and on federal land in the National Capital Area unless they are approved by the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission (NCMAC).
