[1] It was renamed Castle Donington and Shardlow on 13 June 1901 [2] before being closed to passengers on 21 September 1930. [3] It was closed to freight in 1967 and was demolished soon after.
The town has no rail station, but East Midlands Parkway opened early in 2008 at Ratcliffe-on-Soar providing links on the Midland Main Line.
