A former Jurys Inn in Brighton. The heritage of the Jurys Group can be traced back to 1881, when William Jury opened his first boarding house in Dublin.The first Doyle Hotel, The Montrose, was built in Stillorgan, Dublin, in 1964 by PV Doyle. 1993 saw the introduction of the Jurys Inns brand with the opening of the Galway and Christchurch (Dublin) Inns in April and May, respectively.
Great Southern Hotels was a chain of hotels owned by Irish semi-state airport operator Aer Rianta; and eventually broken up in 2006. The chain was bought by Aer Rianta from fellow semi-state company CIÉ for IE£ 10m in 1990.
Recess railway station was on the Galway-Clifden line of the Midland Great Western Railway.The line opened on 1 July 1895 and was closed on 29 April 1935. [1] The railway owned a hotel at Recess which on 13 October 1922 was burned down by Republicans (together with nearby Glendalough House) to prevent the National troops from using them as billets.
